Child Helpline International

The Girl Power Programme also has a component where AMPCAN will be working with other stakeholders to strengthen the child protection and referral systems in Ghana.  This will include the establishment of the Ghana Child Helpline.  A helpline is a toll free phone and outreach service that is accessible to children whenever they require assistance or just need someone to talk to. The service provides emergency assistance and links children to long-term services when needed. The service will also provide the opportunity for peer-to-peer counseling, thereby building a network of young persons who can advocate for policy issues concerning themselves.  Some of the partners include DOVVSU, Department of Children, Department of Social Welfare, Ministry of Education, UNICEF, members of the Child Abuse Network, GNCRC, Telecom operators and other partners.
